Boat engines, Norwegian Engine Museum in Skånevik

Boat engines, Norwegian Engine Museum in Skånevik (Svein Nord).

In the former production hall of Sunnhordland Mechanical Works, you will find one of the largest collections of engines in Norway. The main emphasis is on engines produced in Norway. As early as 1895 the first engines were installed in the fishing fleet. This started a revolution within the industry. There have been more than 140 engine factories in Norway, and West Norway was a main arena for this activity. In Sunnhordland there were a number of engine producers, and the collection in Skånevik provides an interesting close-up of this.
